Bishop Lawrence Duffy Visits All Saints’ NS

Bishop Lawrence Duffy Visits All Saints’ NS, Doohamlet

Everyone at All Saints’ NS, Doohamlet was so honoured on Wednesday 12th February  to receive a visit from Bishop Lawrence Duffy, school Patron;  Fr. Owen Gorman, school Chaplain and Mr Gerard Duffy, school Board of Management Chairperson.

As school Patron, Bishop Duffy selected a handful of schools in the Diocese to visit as part of his work for Catholic Schools Week. The children hosted a special assembly on the Catholic Schools Week theme, ‘Alive in Christ’ and it really was a most joyous occasion – beautifully prepared and everyone praising God in both word and song.

Bishop Duffy remarked on the wonderful God centred education the children receive here in Doohamlet NS; the good manners of the children and how well they could speak up and answer questions. Bishop Duffy also noted the respectful relationship that exists between pupils and teachers; the friendliness of staff and the very good work being achieved here in this school. We surely are living our catholic ethos and ‘Alive in Christ’.

Congratulations to all the children who hosted the assembly and to all the children who participated so well in their prayer and engagement with Bishop Duffy – he enjoyed his visit immensely. Well done.
