Our annual Sports Day took place on Thursday 28th May in glorious sunshine, providing the perfect setting for a fun-filled day of activities for all pupils.
The children from Junior Infants to Second Class remained at school where they enjoyed a variety of sporting events and games. Pupils from Third Class to Sixth Class made their way to the local GAA pitch, where they participated in an exciting programme of activities throughout the day.
There was something for everyone, with events including running races, tug of war, potato and spoon races, three-legged races, wheelbarrow races, foam javelin throwing and penalty kicks. The children displayed great enthusiasm, teamwork and sportsmanship as they took part in the various competitions.
A special highlight of the day was a surprise visit from the ice cream van. Every child received an ice cream, which was a welcome treat and added to the excitement of the occasion.
The beautiful weather, excellent participation and happy atmosphere made Sports Day a tremendous success. A wonderful day was enjoyed by all, and many happy memories were made.
