Science Week 2021

Science Week 2021

Last  week, the 8th to 12th November we  celebrated Science Week 2021 all across the school.

All classes took  part in many STEM investigations and experiments throughout the week.

Pupils and teachers gained even greater insight into the science behind so many interesting topics such as the Science of the Heart, Science of the Circus. Virtual tours took place to Fota Wildlife Park to check in on the giraffes to Dublin Zoo and even to the Rainforests.

Pupils also explored the exciting world of Chemistry with many hands-on experiments. Vinegar and baking soda proved to be very popular commodities on the day. There were lava lamps, rainbow skittles and even butter created in some classes!

Some classes also took part in the Creating our Future, a Government of Ireland campaign to stimulate a national discussion between everyone  in Ireland on their ideas on how to make our country a better place for all. The pupils came up with a wonderful array of creative ideas with a particular focus on protecting the environment.
