All Saints’ NS Virtual Sport’s Day 13th June 2020 with Healthy Kidz
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I take part in the Virtual Sports Day 13th June 2020?
All Saints’ NS has registered the whole school with Healthy Kidz so that all pupils from JI to Sixth Class can take part.
- Parents/ Guardians can download the Healthy Kidz app on Apple app store or Google Play store –simply search for Healthy Kidz
- Parents/ Guardians will receive text message from All Saints’ NS on Monday 25th May with a username and password for each of your children.
- Log in each child’s activities on the app every day.
Any time pupils log activities on the app (including sport’s day activities) teachers will be able to review this on Teachers’ Dashboard.
What activity do I have to do to be included in the Virtual Sport’s Day?
Sport’s Day Prep can be viewed on the Healthy Kidz website (healthy-kidz.com). Events to be practised will be demonstrated and explained.
Week One’s events is the Sprint and the Long Jump.
Week Two’s events are the High Jump and the Egg and Spoon race.
In order to be entered into the school’s Prize Draw, you must achieve a consecutive 20- day streak on the Healthy Kidz App. You may be asking, what is a streak? A streak is recording any activity on the app for a consecutive amount of days. So, no matter what activity you do whether it is doing your sports day preparation, brushing your teeth, running a mile, cycling around your house and then you log it into your app, it will contribute to your streak.
What are the prizes and when will the winner be announced?
All pupils achieving a 20-day streak will be entered into a prize draw unique to our school for the chance to win a £20 voucher to spend at your local SPAR, EUROSPAR, VIVO, VIVOXTRA or VIVOEssentials!
Winners will be announced by our school once 20 days has passed.
What do I do with the Exercise, Healthy Eating and Wellbeing buttons on the Healthy Kidz app?
Healthy Kidz is about more than just physical activity, so you should also be recording all of your good lifestyle choices on a daily basis.
Remember, these all count towards your points total, so make sure to record them too!
In the white description box, you aren’t required to insert anything if you don’t want to! For exercise, you could insert how long you did it for, for healthy eating you could input what fruit or vegetables you have eaten or how many you have eaten. For washing your hands or brushing your teeth you can just leave it blank – just hit save!
What are the points and the leader board for?
The points and the leader board are used in the Healthy Kidz 30 week in-school health programme which we are not involved in.
For the Virtual Sport’s Day however, we are concentrating on ‘streaks’ instead. If you log 20 days of activity in a row that will equate to 20-day streak. Once you have a 20-day streak then you will be entered into our schools’ prize draw for the £20 voucher.
What if I don’t complete the Sport’s Day prep activity but record it in the Healthy Kidz app anyway?
Well…that wouldn’t be good sportsmanship would it! We trust you and Parents/Guardians will be responsible for ensuring that children have completed the Sport’s Day prep activity correctly before recording in the Healthy Kidz app.
Do I have to take part in the Healthy Kidz Virtual Sports Day?
It is not compulsory to take part. We just thought it might be fun and give you a break from school work.
